Welcome to our clinic shift booking service. 

 

 Clinic Location and Hours of Operation

We are located on the 2nd floor of the Superstore at 350 South-East Marine Drive. The entrance to the clinic is by the stairs immediately on your left as you enter the Superstore main doors.  You may also use the elevator found next to the customer service desk. Our regular opening hours are: Monday to Friday 9am-6pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am-2pm. 

We have a second location at the Richmond Superstore (4651 No. 3 Road). Walk-in shifts are not available at the Richmond clinic, but should you be interested in practicing as a family physician please send an email to medicalclinicbc@gmail.com. 

Shifts

Weekday morning walk-in shifts are 9am-2pm and the weekday afternoon shifts are 2pm-6pm. Weekend and holiday shifts are 10am-2pm. You will see walk-ins and also booked appointments.  

We also have telemedicine shifts available at all times. Please inquire at medicalclinicbc@gmail.com if you are interested.

Payment

Our split is 70/30 for all items billed. 

How to book or cancel your shift

Booking: Please click "Book your shift here!" below and follow the steps to choose the shifts you wish. Please note that you can also book recurring shifts. Once a shift is booked, it is confirmed. You do not need to verify or reconfirm. 

Cancelling: You may cancel your shift one month in advance directly through the online shift booking service. If you must cancel a shift less than a month in advance, please contact us at medicalclinicbc@gmail.com. 

Customizing your shift

Our booking service allows you to choose the number of patients you wish to see per hour and to to relay to us any special requests you may have.

     Prior to your first shift

  1. Please sign the Assignment of Payment Form below and email the completed form toprovider.program@hibc.gov.bc.ca. This is a protected PDF so please contact us at medicalclinicbc@gmail.com to obtain the password.
  2. Please practice on amock chart (e.g. Mickey Mouse). We will provide a remote login to our EMR through email once you confirm your first shift.  The mock patient is inserted in your schedule on the day of your first scheduled shift.

What to bring with you on your first shift

If this is the first time you work at our clinic, please provide a void cheque  to our office manager so that you receive your payments promptly. Please also bring your stethoscope.

Remuneration

We pay billings received from MSP. Our payroll company processes payments every two weeks and we email a detailed billing statement along with every paycheque.

Please note that it may take up to four weeks to obtain your first paycheque. The delay depends on how close to the MSP cut off date your visits were billed. Therefore, please complete your billing within 24 hours of each patient encounter. 

Laboratory Testing

As patient safety comes first, results ordered by new locums are assigned to the ordering locum doctor and to another doctor who monitors their Inbox regularly. Urgent matters (such as positive Group A Streptococcus throat swabs) are thus acted upon in a timely manner. However, routine results (such as an elevated LDL) are the sole responsibility of the locum. Seasoned locums eventually become the sole receiver or results. It is expected that they login to the EMR regularly to review their Inbox.

Vacations

Please email medicalclinicbc@gmail.com as soon as you know that you will be on vacation. If you want someone to cover your results, please go to Inbox, Forwarding Rules and select the doctor who will cover you. Then click Update Forwarding Rules. Keep the Set incoming report status as New. As soon as you return from vacation, please click Inbox and delete the Forwarding Rule by clicking on the name of the doctor you want to remove. Out of courtesy, please advise the doctor you are forwarding your results to about your vacation times.

Parking

There are 6 reserved parking spot available for SVMC staff. However, you can park at any customer parking spot. Even if you park over 4 hours you will not be towed.
